A Typical Day

Each day at The Messiah Christian Preschool is filled with play, learning, and loving care. From morning routines to engaging activities and quiet rest, our days are thoughtfully planned to help children grow, explore, and thrive.

How We Spend Our Day Together

7:30am

Welcome

Children are welcomed into class and settle into a big day of learning with quiet activities.

8:00am

Breakfast Time

Children wash their hands and enjoy a tasty and nutritious breakfast. We set up and clean up together at mealtime.

8:30am

Circle Time

We gather for a Bible story, songs, and a discussion about the learning themes that have sparked their interest throughout the week.

9:00am

Indoor Play & Guided Activity

Children are invited to engage in an activity that has been carefully designed to pique curiosity. This could be anything from building and using a pulley to creating paint from vegetables and fruits. Children may alternatively enjoy free play.

10:00am

Outdoor Play & Guided Activity

Children Are invited to explore a thoughtfully crafted activity designed for exploration and exercise. This may be something like building box forts or developing a letter-carrying system in the yard.

11:00am

Lunch Time

Children wash their hands and enjoy a tasty and nutritious lunch. We set up and clean up together at mealtime.

12:00pm

Nap & Rest

Our classroom is prepared for a time of peaceful rest. Gentle music may be played softly during this time. Children may play quietly by themselves if they do nap at this time.

2:30pm

Snack Time

Children enjoy a healthy snack to prepare for an afternoon of learning.

3:00pm

Outdoor Free Play

We go back outside for enjoy fresh air and exercise.

4:30pm

Story Time

We begin to wind down by reading a book (or two or three) together either indoors or outdoors.

5:00pm

Indoor Free Play/Pick-Up

Children choose an activity to enjoy individually or with friends while families arrive for pick-up. They help clean up the classroom space and say goodbye!

Routines That Teach Responsibility

Throughout the day, children wash their hands upon arrival and before and after meals. Diaper checks/changing and toileting occurs upon arrival and departure, before and after meals, after nap time, and as needed. Tidying up and meal time set-up and clean-up are done together.
