Today’s Reading: Psalm 67

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us— so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.

Psalm 67:1-2

Reflection: All people benefit from the blessings of God. Those who experience God’s blessings firsthand have cause to sing for joy and give Him praise. Those who do not yet know God see His work in the lives of His people when they see God’s blessings upon them. In this way, they are invited to also experience the blessings of being in relationship with God. The psalmist knows that God’s blessings give people a glimpse of God, and so he asks God to bless His people not only for their sake, but also for the sake of those who are watching. He reasons that if others knew the Grace of God, they too would join in praise. The magnitude and reach of God’s blessings allow for all people throughout the nations to discover Who He is. Through the visible blessings of God, each person among the earth can be reached by God, and can be moved to give Him praise.

Reflection Questions:

– How do God’s blessings upon His people help others discover Who He is?

– What blessings have You received from God lately? What do these blessings tell You about God?

– Is there someone you know who does not yet know God? What blessings from God could you tell them about today?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your abundant blessings. Thank You for providing all of my needs. Thank You for also giving me a testimony to tell others about Who You are and what You’ve done in my life. As I receive blessing after blessing from You Lord God, please give me the opportunities and the words to share about Your Goodness. I pray this prayer in Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
