Today’s Reading: Psalm 107:31-43

Let whoever is wise pay attention to these things and consider the Lord’s acts of faithful love.

Psalm 107:43

Reflection: God’s people are dependent on His faithful Love. Not only does God have power over all the universe, but He gladly uses it for the benefit of His people. They lack nothing because of the wonders He works for them. He turns the parched land into fertile ground to farm and causes the people to settle there. He brings forth the growth of vineyards and abundant harvests. He maintains their livestock. While the people till the soil and mind their sheep, it is God Who makes them flourish.

Those who are truly blessed by God are the ones who know their need for Him. They know their constant dependence on God, and look to Him for His Help and Providence. For even when corruption causes them to suffer, God becomes their refuge. But the haughty and proud who have no need for God are the ones who are made to wander in wastelands. These who declare their wealth a result of the works of their own hands are brought low.

Believer, never forget the faithful Love of the Lord who cares for You. His steadfast compassion is what guides you to green and fertile pastures, and keeps you even in the darkest valleys. Your life is full of abundant blessing in God’s Presence only because His Love has dictated it upon your life forever. Let the psalmist’s words resound for us today and everyday: “Let whoever is wise pay attention to these things and consider the Lord’s acts of faithful Love.”

Prayer: Merciful and compassionate God, thank You for Your Faithfulness. Thank You for Your steadfast Love, which keeps me and guards me. Thank You for loving me even when I was far away from You. Thank You for saving me by Your Precious Love. I give You praise, for all the good things I have are because of Your Providence. All that I know about You is due to Your Grace that has blessed with the knowledge of Your Truth. I need You every hour Lord. I love You and am grateful to be Your child. I pray these things in Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
