Today’s Reading: Psalm 92

They will still bear fruit in old age, healthy and green, to declare: “The Lord is just; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”

Psalm 92:14-15

Reflection

Every moment we are given on earth is an opportunity to give the LORD His due glory. No one knows the day or hour that our Lord Jesus Christ will return to earth. Neither does anyone know when their last breath will be if they should go to Him first. But these things are not left up to chance by God. He is the One Who knows the length of every person’s life on earth. He is the One Who wisely gives and takes away. His Name is blessed because He has chosen to reveal His glory to His people, and, by doing so, has taught them how to live lives of praise within the time they are given.

In each moment we are given by God on earth is an opportunity to praise Him. Throughout life, there is never a time that we are completely equipped to glorify God perfectly. If there were, why would we need to seek the LORD for His resources to give Him glory? In our youth, we are strong and resilient, but perhaps lacking in wisdom and experience in our journey with the LORD. As we age, we benefit from His refining sanctification, but often being to lack our own strength and health. In both situations, we are able to give our best for God. In both situations, we are in desperate need of Him in order to do His Will. As we grow in faith and bear fruit which pleases Him, He is the One Who makes us and allows to truly thrive for His purposes. There is no stage of life which is not suited to give God glory. Everyday should be a day of praise.

Prayer

O LORD, my God and King, You are deserving of all the praise and glory I can give You. You are good and wise and perfect. All that You do for me is what I truly need. Thank You for being such a loving God. Thank You for the gifts and talents You’ve given to me to do Your work. Thank You for also being my strength and my joy, the One Who causes me to grow in faith. I pray that You help me to do all that You desire me to do. I pray that You help me to be a good steward of the time that You have so generously given. I love You, LORD, and pray all this in Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
