In the New Jerusalem, God promises that He will be the Light and the Glory of His people. No longer will the sun and moon provide waxing and waning degrees of light by which all can see. God Himself will be the Light by which all is seen and known perfectly. The True Light will illumine all hearts and minds of His own, and will be the One source by which they will see more clearly than ever before. Moreover, the Eternal God will be the Glory of the people. He will be their source of honor and rejoicing. The Lord will be the people’s splendor in which they find their identity and worth. The people find value only in Lord their God.
What a day it will be when we as God’s people find respite from the darkness which looms overhead and dims our eyes of faith. What a relief it will be to see clearly all things by the Word made flesh, dwelling in our midst. Then, we will be truly set apart to our God, separated from the worldly things we hold dear. All these will fade away in His glorious Presence. Hold fast, Israel, for Your God is diligently fulfilling His wonderful Plan which ends in the complete revelation of His Light and Glory. He is Good to bring about all that He has promised.
