Today’s Reading: Psalm 105:26-45

He brought His people out with rejoicing, His chosen ones with shouts of joy.

Psalm 105:43

Reflection

God’s care upon His people is not only steadfast, but also complete. For Israel, He begins with their deliverance from oppression through great and mighty miracles – frogs, locusts, gnats, and waters of blood all symbols of His power over the alleged gods of Egypt. But God not only brings the people out slavery at the hand of the Egyptians. He also “brings out Israel with silver and gold,” then ensuring their daily food and water in the wilderness on the way to a land that He promises to them. He never leaves them without, for He is always near to them. He gives to them more than what their cries for help have asked for, enough that they have been brought out to rejoice in Him.

When God delivers, He delivers in miraculous ways. He provides for Israel and He provides for us. Even today, bring to mind what He has already done for you. He has kept you at night while you rested and has woken you up from your slumber. He has provided for you a daily provision of blessings. He has given you each breath of air to sustain you moment by moment, even when you have not thought through your inhaling and exhaling. We are completely dependent on God. While our need for God is great, God’s ability and willingness to remain faithful far exceeds our every need. He is faithful in character to nurture and grow us in faith. He delivers us from and He delivers to us freely and gladly, preserving us that we might give Him praise. Hallelujah! Our God is Good.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, You are Good indeed. Thank You for the blessings that You give which remind me of Your Love and Care.  I rejoice in Your working of everything in the heavens and the earth as You bring forth Your Will. You deliver in wonderful ways, each one undeserved by us Your people. Thank You, Lord. Please continue to open my eyes of faith to trust in You and the ways You are working. Guide me to live a life of total devotion to and worship of You. I pray all of these things in Jesus’ Precious Name, AMEN.
