Sermon Main Idea: God builds according to His way, not ours.

  • Peter’s obedience to God criticized. (v.1-3)
    • The Gentiles had received God’s Word through Peter.
    • The Jewish believers were upset Peter broke Jewish custom.
  • Peter recounts God’s Work of conversion. (v.4-16)
    • Peter recalls the facts of what happened.
      • The vision from God and the role of the Spirit
      • The six other Jewish witnesses
      • The events at Cornelius’ house
      • The remembrance of Christ’s Words
  • Peter’s reaction becomes the Church’s reaction. (v.17-18)
    • Peter gives way to God’s way.
    • The Church recognizes God’s way.

Prayer: Lord, in all situations, it is Your Way that is perfect. Thank You for building in Your Perfect Way and according to Your Perfect Will all the time. You never fail. Please help me to rely on the ways that You are working in my life and others. Show me the ways You desire for me to carry out Your Will. In Jesus’ Precious Name I pray, AMEN.
