Today’s Reading: Acts 1:1-14

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Act 1:8

Sermon Main Idea: The Church hurries to wait on God.

Listen to Rev. Solomona’s sermon from today’s 10AM Sunday Worship Livestream on our Facebook Page, www.facebook.com/ccmla. Reflect on the Text Points and Life Notes below.

Text Points: The foundation of the Church (v.1-3). The power and purpose of the Church (v.4-8). The posture of the Church (v.9-14).

Life Notes:

God’s people fulfill God’s purposes through God’s power. What are some other sources of power we often rely on? How does the Holy Spirit empower us to fulfill God’s purposes? What difference does the Holy Spirit make in our purpose of witnessing to the world about Jesus?

Be quick to wait on God and never act without Him. What does it mean for us to quickly wait on God? What are we to do when the wait for God is not quick?

Prayer: Loving God, thank You for Your direction by Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for including us in Your great plan. Please cause us each day by Your Spirit to wait on You always. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
