Today’s Reading: Acts 2:14-39

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38

Sermon Main Idea: Turn from sin and turn to Him today.

Listen to Rev. Solomona’s sermon from today’s 10AM Sunday Worship Livestream on our Facebook Page, www.facebook.com/ccmla. Reflect on the Text Points and Life Notes below.

Text Notes: The Day of the Lord is near (v.14-21). The crucified Jesus is both Lord and Christ (v.22-36). Repent from sin and be baptized in Him (v.37-39).

Life Notes:

You are one moment closer to meeting God. How should awareness of our impending encounter with God impact our daily living? Why are some people afraid of meeting God? What are some misconceptions people who want to challenge God have?

Our sins crucified Christ. How does the knowledge that our sin crucified Christ affect the way we view sin? Why is it essential for us to know that we have sinned before receiving salvation?

Christ’s sacrifice offers salvation. How is salvation the answer to the world’s sin problem? What is important for us to understand about Christ’s sacrifice being the “offer” of salvation? (hint: Do people always accepts your offers or invitations?)

Prayer: LORD, it is Your Holy Spirit which powers the building of Your Church. Thank You for allowing us to take part in it. Thank You for providing all that we need to be Your Church. Help us to indeed do the work You are calling us to participate in, that we would reflect Your love and Your truth to a world that needs it. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
