At the end of days, we are to be judged either by our own works or by God’s Work through Jesus. This Truth is a very sobering thought and, with reflection, brings God’s people a great source of comfort. If at the end of our lives we have chosen to reject God, God will allow us to stand before Him without His help. He will indeed see all of our good works, but will also judge based on our rejection of Him and our unrighteousness without Him. But if we have asked for God’s perfect Work through Jesus to cover our sins, we will be guaranteed abundant life forever as His own.
Nothing we do by ourselves satisfies the debt of sin we have accrued against God. And no one escapes the day of God’s Perfect Judgment. But praise the Lord that He has already accounted for our failings! We remain imperfect in this life, but praise the Lord that at the end of days He stands with us, covers us with the Blood of His own Son, and deems us Righteous in His sight. This is our great assurance as followers of Jesus: that because of the good Work our Savior has done, we can look forward to the day when we stand in the Lord’s Presence and are deemed worthy to dwell with Him in life everlasting.
