Today’s Reading: Psalm 10

But You Yourself have seen trouble and grief, observing it in order to take the matter into Your hands. The helpless entrusts himself to You; You are a helper of the fatherless.

Psalm 10:14

Reflection: There is no place that we can go where we are hidden from God. There is no place in heaven or earth that we cannot be seen by Him. The wicked in their arrogance assume that there is no accountability for their evil actions. They boast and curse, deceive and ambush, overpower the helpless as if they will answer to no one for their deeds. But God sees all. He sees when trouble and grief are caused by those who hate Him, and answers according to His perfect Justice. Likewise, the LORD sees the afflicted. He hears their cries of distress. When they are oppressed or hurt, deceived or troubled, God does not leave them alone. All who cry out to Him in need are heard and answered. They are strengthened in heart. They are kept in His care.

Therefore, do not act as if the LORD God does not see you. Know that all actions against Him are accounted for by His Justice. When He rises up to make Himself known, the wicked will be caused to tremble before Him. Also, do not act as if the LORD God does not see you in the difficult situations that You endure. He has seen your every tear and known every time of uncertainty. He has never left you. He is good to hear and answer the cries of His loved ones in distress. The LORD sees not through squinting eyes trying to make out blurred images, but in perfect clarity. God is our Faithful King Who sees all that transpires throughout His Kingdom and governs according to his Justice and Love.

Prayer: Sovereign King, You are Ruler over all Creation. You are Governor over all things great and small. There is nothing that is not seen by You. You hear the cries of Your people and are good to answer according to Your perfect Will. Thank You for never leaving nor forsaking me. Thank You for being ever-faithful. Please teach me to live more mindful of Your sovereignty, LORD. I pray all of these things in Jesus’ mighty Name, AMEN.
