Today’s Reading: Psalm 114

Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, Who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of water.

Psalm 114:7-8

Reflection: Tremble at the Presence of the Almighty God, earth and heaven! Tremble, all His saints! He is to be feared for all He can do. In a dry desert land, the LORD has made known to His people that all they need is what He will provide them. As they grumbled and complained in the wilderness without water, God commanded His servant Moses to bring forth a spring from a rock. Even amongst Israel who doubted Him, who spoke against Him, He provided their every need. This is the God that we serve.

There is no barrenness that won’t produce life if He commands it from them. His Water of Life is pure and sweet, refreshing to the soul and nourishing to the spirit for all who drink of it. His wellspring never runs dry, for there is more than enough for all who come parched and needing to be satisfied. There is no obstacle that cannot be moved, that would dare to stand against Him. Remember the Red Sea which parted miraculously for Israel. It fled to the right and the left at the LORD’s Will. God’s people walked from shore to shore with walls of water on their left and their right, guarded by the Holy Pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. God has proven that no mountain, no hill, no barrier is to much for Him to handle. By His power and Will, one can command the mountains to move. Often, we are taken through the darkest valleys with the LORD before us. But there is no doubting that, if He Wills, God can simply take whatever He wishes away.

Hallelujah! Tremble, therefore, not in terror, but in joy and reverence before Him. In all of His splendor and majesty, look what the LORD has done for us!

Prayer: Everlasting God, You are marvelous! I remember all You have done for us, Your people, and cannot help but wonder even more about You. I have seen Your power and mighty, Your beauty, Your wisdom, Your goodness and love, but still cannot fathom it completely. You are too wonderful, LORD. I praise You for Who You have revealed Yourself to be. I thank You for the ways You continue to care for me. Please help me to trust in Your might and strength always. Teach me to remember in all situations that You are always in control. I pray all of these things in Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
