Today’s Reading: Psalm 37

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act, making your righteousness shine like the dawn, your justice like the noonday.

Psalm 37:5-6

Reflection: The best that can happen to a person of God is His action on their behalf. When the LORD does something for His people, they are guaranteed all that they need. When we commit our way to God’s way, we are submitting to not only His direction, but also to His provision for the journey. The trials up ahead, the needs that will arise, the weariness and weakness of His people, all of that is accounted for. All needs are met for all who have decided to follow Him. At times when needs are near, we can fail to remember the LORD’s ever-present nearness. But it is best to entrust ourselves to God, Who not only knows every obstacle ahead, but is also well-equipped to provide more than enough to all in His care.

The worst that can happen to an enemy of God’s people is the LORD’s action on behalf of His own. For no matter the strength of the enemy, no matter their cunning or craftiness, they are unable to prevent the LORD from having His Way. God’s people may be weak, but their God is never weakened. God will see that His Will for His people is brought to fruition no matter what. Trust in what He will do. Those against God will all one day perish, but you of God will always remain secure. Keep your trust in the LORD, children of God, for He cares for you. There is nothing that your God cannot do.

Prayer: O Ancient of Days, before I was born, You knew me. You already knew my needs, and You continue to sustain me every moment. I want for nothing in Your midst. You are faithful to provide, to care for, and to show Your everlasting love. Thank You for all that You continue to do for me. Thank You for all that You have already done. I rest assured always in Your care, O LORD my God. As I journey with You, please continue to help me follow after You. In times where I might want to lead, bring to my mind the truth that Your Way is the only good way to go. I trust You, LORD. Help me to trust You. I love You, LORD. Please help me to love You more. I pray these things in Jesus’ Name, AMEN.
